Skanda Review: A Test of Patience

Skanda

Ram worked with Akhanda director Boyapati Sreenu on the Skanda movie. Ram seemed bulked up and action-packed in the Skanda trailer, while Sree Leela, the newest star, brought beauty. Skanda seems to be one of the mass dramas that Boyapati Sreenu’s films are known for. Skanda, a new movie, has opened in theatres. The Skanda review from the US premieres is shown here.

What Is It About?

The chief ministers of the two states plot against one another before a guy named Ram abducts both of their daughters, attracting attention to himself. Rudraganti Ramakrishnan Raju (Srikanth), who is in prison awaiting his death sentence, is the reason for his kidnapping. Skanda is centered on the background of Ram’s kidnapping and how it relates to the CMs.

Performances

Ram Pothineni’s transition from Ismart Shankar to a rougher appearance worked well for him. Ram’s success in Skanda supports his claim to the position. It’s enjoyable to watch him move with ease throughout the action moments. The play featured less fighting than Skanda, but Ram performed admirably in both. Chuttu Chuttu and Gandarabai songs featured Sree Leela, who is only known for her singing and dancing. Saiee Manjrekar plays a fairly minor supporting part.

Raja Daggubati received a prominent part, Srikanth is good. In their various parts, Prince, Prudhvi, Kilikki Prabhakar, Sharath Lohitashwa, and Ajay Purkar all did okay. Boyapati and Skanda flicks frequently feature screen-filling celebrity casts that are always impossibly well-dressed. Many performers, including Indraja and Gouthami, barely ever get to speak.

Technicalities

Anyone who hears the name Boyapati-Thaman immediately thinks of the BGM. The background music in Skanda should have been better and is absurdly loud. Ne Chuttu is a fun tune to see. The majority of the dialogues are repetitive and rhyme with words like “gate” and “toll gate.” The screenplay had room for improvement. Excellent cinematography. With the second half’s sluggish pacing, in particular, the editing should have been improved.

Analysis Skanda

More violence, less reasoning, flying thugs, odd weaponry, rhyme-filled warnings, a family, and a savior are all present. The majority of Boyapati’s films include all of these components, and Skanda is no exception. In reality, the filmmaker introduces a vengeance storyline yet again, with good triumphing over evil in a much-anticipated story.

Skanda is a common mass drama in which the hero goes to great lengths to protect a family that is very dear to him. The story and the plot are both classics. Skanda, a Boyapati movie, often has high-octane action sequences for both the general public and his followers.

The usual scenario of the hero seeking to win over a CM’s daughter on the one side and the two state+ CMs opening fire on one another for a different cause makes the first half of Skanda not particularly exciting. Only the action episodes manage the run till the intermission because the love track is below “average”.

With the true plan revealed and Ram’s murdering spree growing uncontrollably, the second half becomes increasingly vicious. The filmmaker opted to go with a tried-and-true format for a commercial, in which strong politicians pick up a trustworthy businessman for their nefarious financial schemes and hassle his family when he obviously refuses. Boyapati didn’t stop then; he continued to let antiquated notions like narcotics and sexual assault claims throw a good guy in jail.

Though the majority of people are captivated by the action scenes, some of them go too far, such as when Ram kills hundreds of armed men in his community with only a few weapons. The less that is said about logic in Boyapati’s movie, the better. There is a family drama as well as a few passable conversations.

A protracted action scene with lethal weapons and a temple setting is featured in the conclusion as part of the customary Boyapati scenario. The foretold events are tied together by an unexpected but director-special surprise in the conclusion. Overall, Skanda is a typical mass-action film following the Boyapati model that might please action enthusiasts and Ram devotees.
