Raj Kundra will appear in the soon-to-be-released movie UT69. The movie, in which he plays the starring role, is based on his historic arrest.
In a recent interview, Raj Kundra discussed her husband Shilpa Shetty’s response to his acting debut in UT69. Despite Shilpa’s initial reservations, he claimed that she eventually came around and was actually in favor of the proposal. Raj revealed that Shilpa believed the movie wouldn’t be made because it was “dicey.”

Raj playfully remarked, “I decided to tell her that I am creating a film when she (Shilpa) was only a few feet away from me. I didn’t want to approach her too closely. “I informed her that I was waiting for her response and that I had a script. A flying chappal slammed into my face as I turned away from her. I think she initially appeared to find the idea a little doubtful. Maybe she thought we wouldn’t make the movie,” he continued.
How Shilpa shifted her opinion
Raj also described how, following a narration by the filmmaker Shahnawaz Ali, he persuaded Shilpa. He only gave her a brief narration. She realized that there was no case against the system when she gave it some thought. She thought it was a wonderfully human story. She was extremely encouraging. Tu acting kar lega (would you be able to act), she questioned me. I assured her that I would be able to because I had already engaged in some method acting by entering prison, said Raj. He also mentioned Shilpa’s response to UT69 and her admiration for him.

Recently, the UT69 trailer was released. Raj plays the main character and recounts his time spent in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail. In 2021, Raj Kundra was detained in connection with a purported pornographic case. ‘Breaking news’ concerning Raj’s historic arrest, which had stirred much controversy, begins the movie’s trailer.
Raj spent roughly two months in jail before being released on bail in September 2021. He was arrested for violations of the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
