Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, another dangerous challenger, trailed Neeraj’s performance with a silver medal in hand. Nadeem, who has previously performed admirably on the Commonwealth Games stage, threw 87.82 metres.
Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic took third place on the podium after demonstrating his skill with a best throw of 86.67 metres.
Satish Kumar, Neeraj’s father, told ANI, “This is a very proud moment for our country because we also got a gold medal in the World Championship.” We shall rejoice once Neeraj returns.
