After his six-wicket haul in the final of the Asia Cup 2023, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj reclaimed the top spot among bowlers in the ICC Men’s ODI player rankings.

Mohammed Siraj took the lead in January of this year but was dethroned by Australian fast Josh Hazlewood in March. Mohammed Siraj’s match-winning performance in the Asia Cup final enabled India to win by 10 wickets, eliminating hosts Sri Lanka for only 50 runs.

With only a fortnight until the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj was another notable mover in the rankings.

Maharaj shone in South Africa’s one-day international series against Australia, helping the Proteas become only the sixth side to win an ODI series despite losing the first two games.

Afghanistan spinners Mujeeb-ur Rahman (up two places to fourth) and Rashid Khan (up three places to fifth) have also moved up the rankings.

Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa and Dawid Malan of England were among the top hitters. Klaasen struck 174 against Australia in the ODI series, propelling him into the top ten for the first time.

Malan has risen to 13th place in the rankings after scoring 277 runs in three games against New Zealand.

After scoring England’s highest-ever total of 182 at The Oval, Ben Stokes moved up 13 ranks to 36th in the batting rankings.
