That means the fearless top-order batsman won’t be available for Australia’s World Cup match against England in Ahmedabad.
Cricket Australia accepted Marsh’s leave and stated that a precise return date would be disclosed in a formal statement soon.
“Due to personal reasons, Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh left the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 late last night and returned home. It will be confirmed when he will rejoin the team. At this point, no more information will be provided,” the message said.
Following two disappointing performances, Marsh found his form in the Sri Lanka match, leading Australia to triumph with a brilliant fifty. In the very following game against Pakistan, when he smashed a stunning century to write a decisive victory for his team, his form took off.
