The BJP has come under fire from several opposition politicians for allegedly “politicizing” the occasion. Leaders of the opposition, such as Sitaram Yechury of CPI(M) and Derek O’Brien of the TMC, have declared that religion ought to be a “personal matter.” The Opposition has been branded as “anti-Hindu” by several BJP politicians for declining the invitation.
